Shouldn't dogs eat raw meat?

No more than you should! Dogs certainly can eat raw meat, but that doesn't make raw meat an ideal diet.

Not only can raw meat be dangerous to handle for humans and animals given potential bacterial contamination, but feeding your dog only raw meat means that they likely will miss out on a variety of key nutrients such as sugar in the blood, fiber, and calcium. This is why you'll notice raw diets formulated to meet AAFCO standards still include additional ingredients to account for these deficiencies.
